What I call... Broadway Fashion loool ♥

So, for many year 12's  yesterday, it was their first day and of course they dressed to impress... So not only did I randomly pick people off the street but I also picked my lovely friend and designer Tosin and also her friends from Townley Grammar... Who said smart girls aren't fashion conscious!

What I love about their outfits is that they barely tried and look smart but simple, I especially love the worker boots with the outfit, it was a brave thing to do, but she worked it.
Then let's just say they really began to like the paparazzi....
loool... the fake M&S laugh

The lovely Tosin herself looking all preppy and what not... I'm always a sucker for a tied shirt, just think it's soo sheikh!
Also the shoes were a surprise, but a good one... the NORMAL thing would be to wear espadrilles, but she TRULY went in with her vintage looking shoes (look very Eastern Europe, just don't know what country)

looooooool!
This was when they started getting a wee bit gassed lool

This girl not only had a top that I envied (And the colour! Yum!) but she is BEAUTIFUL! She looks a bit like the Kardashians, probably Kim....
I also love her nude brogues that she threw in, so her outfit doesn't over match or get brought down by black.
JUST LOVE IT!

Yum! look at the collar of the top aswel... beaut!

My lovely friends Sofia gives us the 101 on how to wear wine colours whilst still looking casj

LOVE the waistcoat....

But for me... it was the boots that I was over excited about!

Obviously I had to get some boy swag in here too... I would ask some grammar school boys but then I realised they all looked better when they were walking together (like a the whole Men In Black thing), and there were others but I was too shy lool

What I like about this guys outfit is that it looks like he didn't even try to look good, but he did by accident

looks like he came out of one of the urban magazines like LOVE or i-D magazine... I can imagine him in SKINS...

And the highlight of my day was 3 girls I didn't even know, but looked too hot to pass by without taking a snap at them!!!

I like the way this girl kept it simple and minimal, but instead of wearing dolly shoes or flats, wore a pair of brogues to bring up the level of wearage!

I LOVE vintage, so this outfit is a dream come true for me... the loafers, the cardigan (wine again!), the bag, the shorts, top, necklace... The Whole Shabang! is my thing....
*I literally nearly dropped when I saw her lool

I also love the cuteness of this girl's outfit, doesn't even looked like she tried... ADORABLE!

>>> Brown fringed loafers ♥
She's soooo cute!
Necklace!!!

I think our lesson today boys and girls, is that the most simplest details make SUCH  a difference, don't think too carefully, but rather chooses pieces that are nice separately and just put them all together to get that 'thrown on, I'm not trying' look!
Oh and Denim on Denim is back peepz!!!

Ciao!

Eventful day with Safari ♥ and Co.

Well Today was probably one of the most eventful days I had since the Desire Africa fashion show
Let's start from the beginning, when I had to re-enrol at college and my teacher decided to say to me "I was VERY surprised at your AS grade" in a way meaning "You REALLY didn't deserve that grade"... But it's ok I'm just gonna prove to the meanie that I can do it :P
Then we had the whole Uni talk for like the millionth time! And I, stupidly, asked the same teacher if I should take the LNAT and of course she went of on a second rant about me being 'passionate about Law!'... like we were talking about bringing up a child!!
Anyway... Here's some fashion for ya ;)

My beautiful friend Rachel Adeusi... Swagger Don lool

As you can tell I was getting carried away with Picasa2, some photo editing thingy majigy on my laptop... funny how I have that but not Word Processor >_<

Funny enough when I got to Bexleyheath Broadway, I saw the fashionable and intelligent (She did VERY well in her exams) Bisso Konlan and couldn't handle but take some snaps of her, even though all she wanted to snap was her burger loool

What I really love about her outfit is the fact she seems like she didn't even try and even though she's wearing a plain smart shirt, she dresses it down with a scarf, denim jacket and worker boots.

Of course I couldn't handle but put my baby girl Safari on here with her own special way of dressing, and to accompany her is the lovely Olivia

I love the way she kept her original African roots and wore African material as a headscarf.... adorable =D I also love her Vintage Jumper, something I seem to have a fetish for nowadays (My sis hates them loool)

And here was my back to College outfit for the day, I wonder if Solomon is staring at me loooool (I know when he sees this his gonna be cracking up at my forwardness lol)
And here's me with the lovely Nsikan (Wish I was tall like her loool)
OF COUSRE! THE BIG HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY WAS THE
'Vogue Fashion Night-Out' - which was situated in various stores in West End
Me, Safari, Bodourin and Elizabeth (My gorgeous sister) decided to go to Warehouse where a styling competition was taking place, with the 1st prize being a chance to have your own style video for the Warehouse website or for five lucky runner-ups, they get the chance to keep their outfits. Though it was a competition, we all helped each other achieve the right looks for our models...
hopefully we were all considered to have done well and even if we don't win nothing the experience would have been enough (obviously I'm trying to not let my hopes get too high loool)
A bit of quick imagery by Safari herself >>>

Here's a bit of my own handiwork on the day with my gorgeous model Michelle.
The links to the clothing I put on her are as follows:- http://www.warehouse.co.uk/chintz-floral-super-wide-trousers/Trousers-&-Leggings/warehouse/fcp-product/302582 Which were the floral chiffon-like trousers and for the top I had a nice cream striped mesh top http://www.warehouse.co.uk/mesh-stripe-t-shirt/Smart-Tops/warehouse/fcp-product/301964 and to toughen my girly look I decided to add a leather jacket http://www.warehouse.co.uk/pu-quilted-biker-jacket/Coats-&-Casual-Jackets/warehouse/fcp-product/301574                                            Let's just say though it looked nice, I wish I could have done MORE! Oh well, all's well that ends well loool (unless of course I win a prize =D)
Keep your eyes open for more events such as a fashion show I'll be working at backstage!!
Ciao ♥

Swagger like Charity Shop ♥

Soo, my Mum decided to give me money for my college clothes in instalments, I think she did this because she knows I LOVE buying things from Charity Shops and Vintage Markets....
So here's some of my best finds from the 'Charity Shop' on Welling High Street...

Both these shirts, one with a print I still haven't figured out the name for yet :/but the one on the left is mostly chain patterns with Gold, Musturd and Gold colours with a nice touch of Gold buttons.... the one on the right is nude (though cuz of my rubbish camera work you can't tell ): )
And I got both for a pound each =

I got this lovely necklace for 75p... the chain was 50p and the pendant was 25p

I'm actually in love with this necklace, all those who know me know how much I love it

I'll keep all posted on all good Charity Shops and Vintage Market events...
See y'all around
Ciao

How To Wear Clothes 101

Posted by Maria 'OhSo' Golden On 20:26 0 comments
Recently I had to plan a fashion show, and one of my main priorities was obviously making the clothes look good, but they can't look good if you don't make it look good... And I'm not talking about your actual physical appearance, but your confidence and the amount of 'wearage' you have (wearage: rocking clothes).
It did not occur to me how important wearage was till the day of the fashion show when I had to deal with my models.
And here was my big advice:
Lie!
Lie!!!!!
Lie! Lie! Lie!Lie! Lie!Lie!Lie!
If you 'act' like it's hott, they will 'believe' it's hott!

After all, in this world of no faith 'Seeing is believing'!
So my models, stepped up the game on their wearage and they had the audience eating out their hands....
So the moral of the story is people, next time you want to wear and Ugly Betty outfit... bring up the levs on your wearage and make it look fierce!

Ciao!

We all judge by the cover... be honest!

I was sitting down today and thought about my friend, who I'm going to call Care, so Care is always on about how people shouldn't judge her from the way she looks and the way she speaks (Cuz her voice is naturally different, very high), which I think is fine cuz she is a VERY unique individual anyway, and all those elements is what makes her unique and makes people love her. But she hates sometimes being dubbed the 'weird' one, as she finds it derogatory... But maybe she's right?
When I wasn't too attractive I never get paid the sought of attention I get now, I now find it easier to make friends and be confident because people can call me 'pretty'. But if I was the girl I was before the weight-loss or the dress-sense... would you even pay me any mind?
Recently I planned a fashion show as part of a project called 'Set Fashion Free' and my group was called 'Desire Africa'. We made some BEAUTIFUL clothes and had GORGEOUS models, almost ALL designs displayed on the night were done by Tosin-Maria, who wasn't even originally apart of my group but was a life-saver... Anyway, after the fashion show people began to approach me to do more and I thought to myself 'Why are they calling me the designer out of the whole group?', and then I realised it was because I looked the part, not because they saw my own personal talent or skills... then I just thought 'HOW SHALLOW', but I would do the same thing... and so would you! but do you admit it?
That you judge a book by it's cover?
